Back from paint.
On Nov. 8, 2005 I purchased this 1947 Westwood Coronado. It was in an old trailer park. The exterior was a pink latex house paint. Just needed a little work ;-)
After getting the trailer home, demo. started. This trailer was used as a rental unit, and it showed. Everything was removed from the trailer. Tobacco stained walls, butchered cabinets, holes in flooring. And the list goes on and on........
The old flooring was removed and a new 6k capacity axle was installed.
Exterior latex paint has been stripped. New front panel will be bucked riveted on and the entire trailer will have all dents, dings, holes filled and shot with Zinc Chromate primer. Final color will be a Forrest green and beige/alabaster top.
Back from paint.
New floor installed. Insulation, wiring, interior partitions are being installed. All interior seems were sealed against leaks.
Here are some final pictures of some before and after shots, and some unique additions to my trailer.
Interior Today
Sleeper sofa then
and now
Fold-up kitchen table, and a rare 1940's Coronado Bakelite WORKING radio.
Whats more classy than an original DIXIE stove....works great.
Check out the vintage kerosene heater, I removed the "guts" and we plan to use it for storage. Vintage small white propane heater will "run you out" in about 5 min. I decided to use a yellow Formica countertop. I love yellow. There is also a vintage yellow ice-crusher, and spice rack.
I also included one of the most important updates...A FULL BATH....toilet and shower. A wood door will be added. Nice to have at 2:00 a.m. or when it's raining.
A rare 1940's flat-screen tv ? No....a modern flat-screen made to look Vintage. Fully functional. This trailer is cable/satellite ready.
MORE TO COME
